Topic Brainstorm

1) Compare and contrast elements of two different texts. For example, explore the similarities and differences between two characters in the texst, or examine how one theme is handled in similar and dissimilar ways in two different texts.

-This topic interest because making comparison between two different text is fun. This lets you see how they are the same or different in any why from ideals to writing. What I would like to learn through this assignment is something I might have missed when I have read them separately. The strength I would bring to this topic is experience. Since in high school most of the writing is compare and contrast.

2) What does this work reflect about its historical, social, political and/or economic context? You may focus on race, class, power, cultural values and beliefs, historical events, the author’s biography, gender, psychology, etc.

-This topic interest me because you are comparing the text to real world topics and issues. What I would like to learn is what does tell me about the writers thoughts on these issue or topic. The strength I bring to this is when it comes to compare text to real world topic I like to explore in detail how things connect.

3) Choose a reading selection. Explore the relationship between elements of the selection. For example: how does setting influence character development?

-This topic interest me because you are digging deeper into the text to hidden meanings or things not easily seen with out great thought. What I would like to learn through this is to improve my critical thinking skills. The strength I bring to this topic is I like to over think a lot of stuff which could be helpful in seeing what lies beneath the surface.

4) Think about a theme you see running through your life (failure is the best lesson, love is eternal, etc). Choose a reading that you think also discusses this theme (even if it reaches different conclusions about it). Explore connections between how the theme plays out in your life, and how the theme gets played out in the reading.

-This topic interest me because i am connecting the text to me life which makes it personal as well make me think about my life from a critical thinking point off view. I would like to learn more about myself as a persons as well as how other people are similar to me. The strength that i bring to this is I will be talking about myself which i am an expert on.
