She was a fierce opponent of war and slavery and an early defender of animal rights. She was special because she was doing a lot things women didn’t use to do especially a time before women gained the same rights of men. One of her poems that was pretty popular “To a little invisible being who is expected soon to become visible”.  The poem is about a mother that is full of excitement and anticipation for her baby that is about to be born and speaks of the baby in nameless, genderless, and classless way (p. 328). In this poem she hints at there are more to women that they have there strengths as well as talk about hopefully a day comes when women are no longer stuck in traditional roles. Another poem she was known for was " Eighteen Hundred and Eleven". This poem talks about war more specifically Britain's participation in the Napoleonic Wars. She also express that britain is declining and America is on the rise.  Another writer named ANDRÉS BELLO,
Born in CaracasVenezuelain 1781Bello began working for the colonial government in 1802 and oversaw projects of national scope. Bellos type of poetry combines classical and romantic impulses. His most famous poetry was “ode to tropical agriculture” written in 1826. It talks about agriculture and the abundance of food and the land is represented as providing everything  people need to live. . Then the Spaniards arrive, and place that group of people into servitude, yet the land kept providing. He also hint at us as we are destroying the land with are advancements (p.391-394).
